With great regret we have arrived at the following decision:
Animal Magic Dog Club Newsletter
After Sunday 22nd March The Club will cease all courses and Season 2 2020 will not go ahead. One to one sessions, however, will be available to book, throughout. We have made some special provisions. See below for those provisions and how we intend to handle outstanding bookings.
Our reasoning:
- Government Advice
- The sensible and correct withdrawal by trainers and assistants who are exposed to ‘at risk’
people
- One to one sessions can be undertaken whilst easily meeting the social distancing standard
and will be undertaken in The Paddock wherever possible, whenever weather allows.
Community
We are a Club and our members are so important to us. If we can help in any way, with anything, for anyone effected we will try. To this end we have formed a WhatsApp group – ‘Magic Dogs’ for group chat and messaging for all members. This would enable people to ask for help, exchange thoughts, be funny, post silly dog videos, exchange ideas – anything that might make isolation easier. If you wish to join this group simply email with your mobile number and we will add you. Please take into account that all chat group members would then have access to your phone number and so by emailing you will give consent to your number being exposed to members of the chat. No member need feel alone, your club is always here, if you are unable to join our chat group you can always email if you need help.
Free, Isolated, Sessions:
We know that our Agility members and there dogs will miss their practice really badly as practice makes perfect ;). If you are competent in running your dog on an agility course we will make the Barn available on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9.00 am until 1.00 pm for individual members to take their dogs and give them a run on a course that will be left in place for the duration of the emergency measures. If demand is high then available sessions will be added to. The Barn will be supervised, if at a distance, for the full time of availability but no training will be offered. It will work like this:
- Sessions must be requested and booked by email
- All sessions start on the hour or half hour
- All sessions run for twenty minutes leaving a ten minute turn-around for people to clear the club
for every session
- All sessions will observe full social isolation protocol
- All door closures will be wiped down by the attendant staff member after each session is
complete and the member has left
- Members should ensure that they think carefully about their own safety by such measures as
wearing gloves and bringing their own, portable hand sanitisation methods.
Covid 19 Response Update. March 2020
Obviously we feel that this is a service that we can offer that is safe and free and it is available to all Agility Members as a service to try to mitigate the loss of their activity for both human and dog.
Puppies:
We recognise that getting into training early with your puppy is really important and this crisis means the potential to miss a vital stage. Those already booked onto Season Two Puppy Foundation can substitute four, one to one half hour sessions , observing social distancing protocols, for their course. The cost of four sessions substantially exceeds the cost of a course and the sessions will be packed. For those who wish to retain their course bookings age restrictions will be relaxed when this crisis is over. Please email your preference.
Course postponement – costs…..
As you know, from when you booked, we do not offer refunds, however, all members booked onto a course will be given a full credit covering the cost of the course of their choice when we return. To fully refund everyone would leave the Club with no reserves at a time when costs persist and the Club has no income. We hope that you understand this and will be happy to work with us. Having said that if anyone dissents from this arrangement they should contact us by email to discuss. Nobody knows how long this situation will persist and we do not run as a profit making entity, we cover our running costs with Self employed and part time staff. and your help in our survival is hugely appreciated. We face having little or no income until the second season of classes after the shut!
We wish all of our members good, health, physical and mental and look forward to a quick return to normality. In the interim we hope that you can see that Animal Magic Dog Club is here for you, Dog lovers together.
