Covid and Lockdown update….
We are back after another lockdown! We restarted on Thursday 3rd December and some of you will take until well into January to complete the Autumn Season courses. This is not ideal for anyone but fingers crossed that there is light at the end of the Pandemic tunnel! We will continue with the Covid protocols that we have in place for the foreseeable future. We are content that we are OK to continue to offer our services under Tier 2 regulations.A number of members are opting to shield both themselves and or relatives and we fully respect their decisions and wish them all the very best of health. We will be here when normality returns.
Courses:
NEW: Our trainer, Elaine, is looking to run a new course as a follow-on to Obedience For Walks. Obedience For Walks Improvers. This more advanced course will involve training away from the Club at various different locations: country paths, woods, beaches etc. Please keep an eye on the website and Facebook for it to become available. We are just checking the acceptability under Tier 2 restrictions. It would be helpful if you could email me if you are interested and we will start a waiting list. We hope to make this available in about one week. The course will be on Thursdays at 11.45. Week one at the Club and moving out from there, a schedule of locations will be provided.
Waiting Lists: We now run waiting lists for all courses and where we can we adopt a flexible approach to putting on courses outside our standard scheduling. If the demand is there we will put on a course. Do let us know what you need.
One to One and Private Training:
We have booked more of these sessions during the pandemic than in normal times. Dogs have been hit by this strangeness as much as we have. The current charging structure for these classes doesn’t meet costs, unfortunately, so the price for these will rise for January 1st 2021:
30 mins General Assessment or single issue correction – £30.00
45 mins Multiple issue correction – £45.00
60 mins Complex or Multiple Issue correction training – £60.00
60 mins Home Visit; £95.00 (unchanged)
We hope that you can understand that these courses often require that your trainer travels to the Club especially and sometimes for just one session and that a second member of staff is often in attendance as a handler for a ‘stooge’ when social issues are a problem. As a percentage this may seem a large increase but in real terms it is not and we believe it to be fair. All course costs remain the same, no increase. Thank you for your understanding.
Christmas:
Last year we invited everyone for a mince pie and a glass of mulled wine at the Club before Christmas….. sorry this year the restrictions due to Covid preclude that. We are truly sorry. NEXT YEAR!!!

A Heartfelt Thank You:
At this time we could legitimately be crying into our beer about lost of revenue, the challenges of 2020, the awful fear and restrictions that have so curtailed our activities but we are not going to! We have been overwhelmed by positive and kind messages throughout the year; expressing how much you value the club, how much you appreciate your trainers and how much you get from being with us at Animal Magic. This compensates royally for all the bad stuff and we know that many people close to us all have had much tougher times this year. A huge thank you from all of us on the staff side of things, you have been a wonderful bunch. To those who are missing for safety reasons…. take great care and see you in 2021, to those of you who are current, your support is hugely appreciated and we hope it continues into new courses, to those not currently active with us, you don’t know what you are missing! Those who have yet to find us have such a treat in store! It’s not just about the training, the activity, it’s also about the wonderful friendship, support and camaraderie .
