The dogs in the care of Norfolk Strays will have full tummies on Christmas Day thanks to the generosity of club members who attended and donated items for the Christmas party. Today we have delivered ten 15 Kilo sacks of food and have enough in the kitty for another delivery in the New Year. Thank you to everyone who has enabled us to support this very worthwhile local cause over the past year.
Christmas is almost upon us, it can be a stressful time with last minute presents to buy and shopping to be done. It can also be a stressful time for our dogs with lots changing in the home, new sights, smells and people visiting. Take time to think ahead and plan how to make the festive season as stress free for your dog as possible. They might appreciate having their bed moved into a quiet room if you have house guests, ensure they have enough exercise and like us that they don’t over indulge on treats that they’re not used too.
A few important things to remember:
- Check the emergency cover at your vets.
- No chocolate, dried fruits, Christmas pudding and mince pies for your dog, these are for humans only.
- Don’t be tempted to feed leftovers, especially sprouts!
- Poinsettia’s, holly and mistletoe are toxic and should be kept out of your dogs’ reach.
But most of all we wish you a very Merry Christmas and look forward to seeing members old and new when we open on 15th January.
