Covid 19
Like every responsible business and careful individual we are having to consistently evaluate the implications of the spread of this, the latest, Coronavirus. We are acutely aware that some of our members fall into higher risk categories due to age or infirmities, if not there own, amongst close relatives. We fully respect individual decisions to miss classes in attempting to invoke various forms of social distancing or self isolation, we also understand that the potential risk is different for everyone and support those decisions, to self exclude, one hundred percent.
At this time and while our trainers are happy to continue working, we do not intend to cancel courses or classes and felt that it would be sensible to explain our stance over this.
- Our region has one of the lowest incidences of the virus to date.
- Our Classes, to a maximum of eight dogs, do not constitute a mass gathering.
- In no context are people squeezed into tight airless spaces.
- Very shortly, as the weather improves, many of our classes will move outdoors.
- In a time when social gathering opportunity will become increasingly scarce, the Club offers a relatively low risk opportunity for members to socialise.
We are very conscious that nothing of this eliminates the risk. We simply point out that the risk is far less than at a football match, a train, plane or a concert where large numbers of people are forced into close proximity. We simply ask that members follow the published guidelines on hygiene and separation to protect other members, including self isolation for seven days before returning to Club activities if you are returning from holidays or visits to badly stricken areas, home and abroad.
We hope that we are taking a common sense approach but will continue to monitor events, take advice and listen to our members and therefore our position on all of this might change as the situation evolves. We will stay in touch.
Dog Dancing
So far we have three interests in Doggy Dance…. not quite enough to training. Any more takers……? Email me! [email protected] You have the return of Trainer Bronwen Bell in your hands 🙂
Social Media
Our followers on Facebook continue to grow in number and we are getting some very complimentary feedback on the content. We have had people say to us: ‘we don’t do social media’ – ‘ we don’t do facebook’, to those people who think that way….. we think you miss out. You don’t have to take part, you only have to sign up and then you can simply just watch what we are up to! Give it another thought.
Links Page?
Club member: Kate Garside, asked us to consider adding a link to her “dog friendly” holiday Cottage on the website and we were happy to do so. If you have a small business locally and think that a shout out to your business or service might be helpful we are quite happy to consider adding a business to business links page as a service to our little community. interested? email: [email protected] with your link and a couple of lines on what you do and we’ll add you for free as long as you are a paid up member.
Reminder:
Could you please ensure that your dog is given every opportunity to urinate before you leave for the club and again on the verge by the paddock when you arrive. We are currently spraying the floor with a mildly, Lavender scented disinfectant every week and the less pee the better, thank you. As ever, solid waste needs to be bagged and taken away.
