On Bank Holiday Monday, it didn’t just rain – it poured, but despite the weather Animal Magic Dog Club delivered over 200 kilos of food collected during our ‘Feed a Norfolk Stray Month’.
If a dog is picked up straying it’s taken to the pound where it will remain for up to seven days. After which, if it remains unclaimed it will be put to sleep. Thankfully in North Norfolk we have Norfolk Strays, a local organisation ran by a small team of dedicated volunteers. Once the dog has served its mandatory seven days then it is signed over into their care and they set about finding a rescue to continue with the rehoming process.
Over the past eighteen months they have saved over two hundred dogs, all of which have come from our area.
Norfolk Strays rely on donations to continue with their work and we are delighted to support them, they will also be the beneficiaries of our annual Xmas party on the 29th November.
Pictured on a blustery day is Tash Rust from Norfolk Strays with just a small amount of the food which we collected. Also pictured is Tia who’s licking her lips in hope that all of this food is just for her! She enjoyed a thoroughly good belly rub from our Fiona who organised the collection.
A huge thank you comes from Tia and all at Norfolk Strays who were overwhelmed by your generosity.
Best Wishes Bronwen Bell-Batchelor Club Manager
