Internet puppies, your most expensive purchase?
A recent kennel club report has highlighted that as many as 1 in 3 people are buying their puppies via social media, internet etc. A lot of these puppies are from puppy farms and often require long term veterinary treatment many dying before they are 6 months old. The research found that 33% of puppies bought from these farms failed to get a clean bill of health when presented to a vet for their first vaccination compared with only 6% of puppies failing when bought from a reputable breeder.
The cost of a puppy pales into insignificance when compared to the extensive vet fees you will have to find when you have a sick puppy that has not had the best start in life. Even worse is the heartache and worry that comes with a sick puppy. So please do your research, talk to people, come and watch our classes and see what a healthy puppy should look like and take your time before making this important decision.
