We are delighted to offer for the first time the Kennel Club Good Citizen Scheme. The objective of the the Kennel Club Good Citizen Scheme is to train your dog to nationally recognised standards with the option of a formal test by an external examiner to prove your dog’s competence and be awarded the Kennel Club certificate. The Kennel Club Scheme is aimed at all dogs whether Kennel Club registered or not, there is no age limit and the test is non competitive .
This course is for dogs that have completed the Foundation Course or done basic training elsewhere. The bronze award covers the following exercises, which have to be done to kennel club standards.:
Cleanliness and identification of your dog
Use of collar and lead
Walking on the lead
Control at gates and doors
Walking amongst other dogs and people
Stay on lead
Grooming
Examination of the dog
Return to handler
Responsibility and care of the dog.
